Take a look at this definition. “Discipline - mental self-control used in directing or changing behaviour, learning something, or training for something”
Discipline leads to the achievement of goals, it helps eliminate bad habits (like procrastination), it helps you improve! Embrace the word and the meaning and apply it to your life in the areas that you want to improve and you will move forward in leaps and bounds.
A lot of people struggle with discipline. It can be a hard habit to form. How many times have you started something with gusto and enthusiasm and a new found determination to ‘be disciplined’ and complete the task, only to fall away after a few days or weeks? I know I have done this many (many) times. It takes practice and willpower to embrace discipline.
One of the things I love about a Goalworks group is that it helps you embrace discipline in your own life. Showing up each week and giving an update to your team mates on your progress with your goals is a great way to form the habit. You develop discipline within yourself to stay on track. You want to show them you are doing well and doing the things you said you were going to do. If you are only reporting progress to yourself, it is a lot easier to make excuses.
Embrace the definition of discipline outlined here and you will find success in more ways than you thought possible, and on a much more regular basis!
