Procrastination is a killer of momentum. We all do it for various reasons, whether it be to avoid a task that we don’t want to do, avoiding a conversation we don’t want to have, avoiding a decision we don’t want to make, putting off starting something because we are overwhelmed etcetera. The trick to overcoming procrastination is to recognise when you are doing it, understand why you are doing it, and immediately doing something to stop it. I can be a shocker when it comes to procrastinating… my nemesis has been the internet. I can start surfing the web and waste an hour without even thinking about it. In recent months I have really made myself aware of it, and if I do catch myself doing it, I immediately turn it off and do something like stand up and stretch or move, just to break the pattern and then I get back into what I was supposed to be doing. What are your timewasters? What have you been avoiding?
I have included a couple of links below which provide points to overcome procrastination.
