This time of year is the most challenging of all when it comes to maintaining your goals. We are constantly busy with shopping to do, parties to go to, people to catch up with, preparations for Christmas and the arrival of loved ones, preparations for travelling, moving house (poor Jacqui). there is a multitude of things out there that will keep you distracted from your goals... and that is ok! This time of year more than ever, you should allow yourself to relax. Now is a time to reflect on your achievements over the past few months.. Something that you should do every now and then between now and the new year is to just read over your goals, read over what you have done to date, feel good about it! In the new year, come back with a new resolve to hit the ground running and make 2010 the best year for you and your family ever! One of the big challenges coming back and getting your mind back into gear.. but don't worry about that just yet (I have a plan!).
Christmas is my favourite time of the year.. it always has been. Catching up with family and friends, sharing laughs, all the beautiful food, watching the kids open their presents, the Christmas afternoon snooze, watching the first ball being bowled on the boxing day test match, the beach.. it's just awesome. To me it's one of the only times of the year that I feel completely relaxed and like a kid again. Something that I have become more and more aware of as I have gotten older is what Christmas really means to me. To me it is about giving and sharing. One of the things I am going to commit to doing this year is to put a smile on a complete stranger's face through giving. I don't need to see it, I just want to do it.
Can I ask that you do the same? Just one little thing, one act of kindness.. I guarantee that it will make you feel great.
What do you love about Christmas? What does it mean to you?
Have a great week guys... Looking forward to catching up for a Christmas beverage!
